Sun. Sea. Stretch. Sail – A Yoga And Island Hopping Retreat!

Yoga. Sailing. Feasts. Ocean Time. Nature. Rock Climbing. Rest.

I am over the moon to announce I will be running a Croatia yoga retreat this year, in collaboration with my dear friends at Balance Garden.

I am a true believer in the power of ocean medicine to heal and restore, in nature to bring us back to what matters and movement to help us transform. This potent week retreat will gift you with time and space for these medicines to work their magic.

About the trip

When? Saturday 6th – Saturday 13th June 2020

On this trip we will start our days with yoga and meditation in the morning to stretch and strengthen the body and calm the mind, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready for a day of adventure. After yoga and a big nutritious brunch on board our luxury sailing yacht we will set sail for our next destination across the open seas (sailing for between 2-4 hours). As we journey, you will have the opportunity to relax and chat/read or to learn to sail with our experienced skippers.

When we reach our destination people will have the choice and opportunity to relax with a book, swim, or try some rock climbing with an experienced instructor.

We will also keep some time ashore free to discover the landscape and local culture.

In the evenings we’ll have another yoga and/or guided meditation session before going for dinner on the island. We have the option to go as a group, or if people prefer to have some time by themselves that is also an option!

No previous experience in either sailing, climbing, or yoga is required. The instructors/guides will teach you all you need to know about how to sail the boat, take your first steps on the rocks, and work on your downward facing dog. There is a lot for those with climbing experience too, with routes up to 8b, slabs, overhangs and deep water solo.

Many people choose to attend retreats alone. This week will be a warm welcome to all those aboard, with group adventures and solitude to yourself offered, as you choose.

The Yoga

I teach a range of different approaches, expect these to be sprinkled through-out the week.

On this retreat, morning practice will usually be fluid, dynamic vinyasa and functional movement flows. Evenings will involve slower flows and restorative practices to wind down your day.

Remedial movement will be incorporated to support any swimming, climbing or kayaking you choose to undertake. There will also be in-depth meditation techniques, myofascial release (more on that here), mantra and delicious yin sessions to relax your limbs and nervous system to a deeper level than our busy daily life often allows.
